Standard Enthalpy Change of Formation.

∆Hf : s the enthalpy change when 1 mol of a compound is formed from it's elements under standard conditions.

Example: standard enthalpy change of formation of water: H2(g) +⅟2O2(g) → H2O(l) :∆Hf = -285.5 kJ mol-1.
